Edinburgh 2022 Shows

Hello there. It is very exciting to be finally debuting my first Edinburgh Fringe show. This has been two years in the making, (obvious reasons), and I would love you to come a see the show! It doesn’t matter who you are, punter, critic, agent or producer, you are all welcome. Well, it would be great if the media people could come after the preview shows, but anyway. Below is all the information you may need to know about my refreshingly warm stand-up show, “Jacob’s Ladder”.

Blurb:

Flat-footed, dyslexic, self-doubting comedy graduate seeks audience for an afternoon of whimsical fun, stepping out on the rungs of his life. Apply Within. Jacob Hulland receives a vision of a ladder, climbing from his home in rural Salisbury to the Scottish titan of Edinburgh. On the rungs, he sees images of Professor Brian Cox insulting a fortune-telling fish, flashbacks of his bemusing time as a tourist assistant at Salisbury cathedral and shoes... lots of shoes! Award-winning comedian at Shaftesbury Fringe. 'Top comedy show, with the energy and style of a Lee Evans routine' (VoiceMag.uk).

Show highlights:

This show has something different to offer, it is not just typical observational comedy, but rather a smorgasbord of comedy styles. The show truly has something for everyone. Including, impressions featuring, Professor Brian Cox, Boris Johnson, Sir Keir Starmer and Sir Michael Parkinson. An inventive lip-sync routine about a new vigilante of Gotham City called, Community Support Batman. An eye-opening routine about what it’s really like to study a degree in comedy. A silent comedy routine, about the perils of letting people off and on a busy train. And of course, plenty of naff one-liners that will make some laugh and others groan!

Parents information:

This show has been advertised as 14+. However, this age restriction was made over a year ago when the show not fully written. Looking at the show’s final content, we now think this age rating is too cautious. The show contains only one swear word, and I can tell you that that word is…(spoilers alert), bloody! It is used only once, and with not much aggression. The rest of the content is very tame, and focuses on being silly and warm, not rude and crude. Therefore, I can confirm that it is more suited to being a 12+ performance.
